The Instutute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) recently announced that Salish Kootenai College (SKC, Pablo, MT) is the recipient of IHEP’s Institutional Champions of Access and Success Award. The award recognizes “postsecondary institutions and individuals who have successfully advanced strategies that increase opportunity, persistence, and degree completion for low-income, first generation, minority, adult, veteran, disabled, and other underserved students.”
In a press release, IHEP praised SKC and the other awardees for their leadership, faculty, and staff who “are committed to achieving positive outcomes for students.” The institute also recognized SKC’s programs and data systems that have contributed to student success. SKC joins the University of Texas at El Paso, Florida State University, St. Edwards University, and California State University, Northridge, among others, as a 2013 awardee.
