Leech Lake Tribal College (LLTC) has announced its plans for the fall 2020 semester. The college has modified its normal schedule and a majority of classes will be offered online. However, some classes will operate in a hybrid fashion, holding necessary labs that will meet on campus, on a limited basis, during the semester. Moreover, the college has announced that classes requiring face-to-face meetings will be held on campus with strict guidelines. Students can search the fall schedule of classes to determine whether a particular class will be online, hybrid, or on-campus.

LLTC president, Dr. Raymond Burns, stated that the college will take every available precaution to keep students safe. Noting that “strict health and safety guidelines will be in place.” Burns also noted that students should only come to campus if they are enrolled in face-to-face classes or if they have an appointment. “We are also mandating that all students must wear masks while on campus and we will be strictly enforcing social distance protocols,” he added.

Burns has encouraged students to contact the college for further details or for elaboration on LLTC’s fall semester plan. “This is not something that any of us signed up for. And for you, as students, this represents a major change in your expectations of college life. We understand and want to do as much as possible to make this experience as productive and rewarding as possible,” Burns explained, adding, “But we are doing this to ensure the safety and health not just of you, and not just for our staff and faculty (although those are considerations to be sure), we are doing this for the health of our families and our communities.”
