LLTC’s Earth Systems Camp blends hands-on learning, scientific inquiry, and outdoor discovery.

Leech Lake Tribal College’s (LLTC’s) Azhegiiwe Bagwajaya’ii (She/he goes back to the wilderness) is excited to announce that it will be hosting the 3^rd annual Earth Systems Summer Camp for high school students. Teens who have a desire to explore the physical, chemical, and biological processes that shape our environment through exploratory activities are encouraged to attend. The camp is free and will take place from 9am-4pm, Monday-Thursday, June 24^th to June 27^th.

The four-day, jam-packed camp will blend science and exploration with real field experience to increase students’ interest in the earth sciences. Students will explore local forest, water, air, and soil with Ojibwe ecological knowledge and modern science tools. Alongside local experts and community members, students will actively participate in learning the history of the area and the importance of protecting cultural and natural resources. 

Registration is open now. The camp will cover expenses during the week, including snacks, lunch, course materials, and transportation during program activities.
