Haskell to Host Indigenous Couture Goes Vogue Vol. 2

Stella Standingbear

Stella Standingbear will host the Haskell event that will feature a range of Indigenous designers.

Haskell Indian Nations University and the Haskell Runway Club are proud to announce Stella Standingbear and Miracle Spottedbear as featured guests at Indigenous Couture Goes Vogue Vol. 2, taking place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Coffin Sports Complex.

The event will open with a powerful prayer song by Miracle Spottedbear, a rising Indigenous performer known for blending traditional vocals with a strong sense of identity and community healing. Her presence will bring intention and reflection to the show’s start, centering the evening on Indigenous strength and resilience.

Stella Standingbear, a groundbreaking Lakota artist and two-time Indigenous hip-hop award winner, will serve as the official host of the event. In 2023, she made history by winning best female hip-hop artist and music video of the year for her viral debut single “Home Runs”—a tribute to MMIW filmed on Oglala Lakota Nation land. Stella’s remix, “SKODEN,” has gone viral on TikTok and Instagram, and her performance on On The Radar Radio alongside traditional dancers brought Native identity to mainstream stages.

As emcee, Stella will offer a land acknowledgment, recognize Haskell’s student leaders and sponsors, and speak on the power of storytelling, cultural expression, and Indigenous resilience.

The event’s featured Indigenous designers represent a range of nations and creative voices, each interpreting Indigenous identity, resistance, and beauty through contemporary and traditional fashion. They include: A TiPi Makers Daughter, Alynwonderland, ANPOA, APACHE/SELECTIONS, BAA, Inspired by LCR, Ista.lbx, Oh Kíyo, Oyate, S’aic’iya Design, Sunrise Creations, and 20 Froggies Designs.
