The Open Education Program at the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) has announced a new open educational resources (OER) creation grant. Faculty and staff at AIHEC-affiliated tribal colleges and universities can apply for $3,000 stipends to create Open Educational Resources. The OERs will be pedagogical units of two to five lessons on a single topic that includes both the student-facing resources and teaching guide accompaniment. The OERs should include both subject and cultural content and will undergo peer review. OERs will be released under a Creative Commons license on the AIHEC OER commons hub.
Apply here by August 15, 2025 11:59 PM CST. Notifications of awards will be sent on September 1, 2025. Any questions can be directed to AIHEC’s program director at achen@aihec.org. Support for this grant generously comes from the Midwestern Higher Education Compact and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.
