The Aseto’ne Network Project is a National Institutes of Health grant-funded program aimed at introducing and engaging tribal college and university (TCU) students in health research. The project has three specific aims: outreach, mentoring, and research and personal skills development.

The project will be hosting webinars featuring health research professionals with ties to tribal colleges and Native communities. In addition, a mentoring program will begin recruiting mentors and TCU students to participate and the project staff will provide online activities to support the participants. 

One of the main components of the project is a two-week summer program to be held June 3-15, 2018. The first week of the program will take students to the University of Nebraska Medical Center campus in Omaha, and in the second week of the program participants will travel and attend the National Native Health Research Training conference in the Northwest. An online application will be available early January 2018 for students to apply, and the program will provide transportation, lodging, and meals for all participants.
